Employer compliance counseling

U.S. employers contend with a seemingly ever-expanding set of duties and responsibilities under current immigration law.  On the one hand, employers are prohibited from engaging in unauthorized employment.  On the other hand, they are prohibited from carrying out this responsibility in a manner that could be deemed discriminatory.

Our role is to help your organization navigate between those two difficult mandates.  We assist human resource professionals and company founders in the start-up phase of a new business or facility, to establish effective immigration compliance policies and procedures.  We advise businesses and organizations regarding internal audit procedures, as well as immigration responsibilities in the context of mergers and acquisitions.  We also provide real-time counsel when presented with unplanned situations, whether
immigration questions emerge regarding a single employee or whether issues emerge regarding a company-wide pattern or practice.
